Good Afternoon,
I hope your school year is off to a great start. One of the projects the Tennessee Bandmaster’s Association took on this summer was the creation of an Adjudication Handbook for judges and an updated approval process for your events. In the document attached, you will find the Adjudication Handbooks for your judges, a site host guide for your event, a form for submitting your event, a copy of all adjudication sheets, and a form to submit your recaps after the event. There is not very much different about the process than before:
- Complete the form for your event.
- Judges will be sent the adjudication handbook through the form. You do not have to send them to judges. This does not apply to percussion, guard, and field commander judges if you use those captions.
- You will receive panel approval from Barry Trobaugh
- You will receive an email with Site Host Handbook and all sheets for your specific judging format
- After the event, please submit results to this form for documentation purposes for sweepstakes.
Obviously, this only applies to shows that are using TBA sheets in order for bands to qualify for sweepstakes. Our hope is that these handbooks and new approval system create a more unified approach throughout the state in regard to the marching arts. Please see the below link for the 2023 TMEA All-State Band and Orchestra Chair Placements. Please share the link with your constituents. By using the links we can make updates in the event of cancellations, that all will have access to.
Thank you all for your help and patience to get this task completed. Part assignments (and equipment to be brought by percussionists) will be coming later this evening. Directors and students are welcome to reference the all-state handbook to see part assignments but please know that there may be some adjustments based on the conductor’s preference.
